Race 1 - Sunnyhill Stud 4yo Mares Maiden
CHOSEN HERO could put the experience that she gained when a fine a third at Dromahane on her debut at the beginning of the month here in a race which is made up largely of newcomers. She was only beaten by just over three lengths on that occasions and sets a strong benchmark for this even as the only horse in this with a completed effort to their name.
Race 2 - Goffs UK Spring Sale 4yo Geldings Maiden
Colin Bowe has his team of four-year-old runners in top form in recent weeks and it would be no surprise if WASPY was to go two places better than what he had managed at Dawstown on debut at the beginning of the month. Imperial Assassin was likely booked for third when exiting at the final fence in Largy and is the obvious danger, with Minella Double and Lunar Contact.
Race 3 - Cavan Developments 5&6yo Geldings Maiden
IMONLYSAYING is among the entries for a Kilbeggan bumper on Friday, but if bypassing that to come here he would look to be the one to beat here having only been narrowly denied at Lingstown back in March on his one and only outing to date. This has a competitive look to it however, and there are plenty of horses capable of putting it up to the selection including Neblin, Tea And Chats, Lockout and the Tom Keating trio of Lucky Zebo, Imperial Alex, and Dr Lockdown.
Race 4 - Quinns of Baltinglass Farmers Hunt Race
AN DROICHEAD GORM let his supporters down in the Bishopscourt Cup at the recent Punchestown Festival when several mistakes saw the short-priced favourite beat just one horse home. He is taken to make amends here at the expense of Alpha Male who will be running in this for the fourth time with a best of two second-placed finishes in it for the 2018 Bishopscourt Cup winner.
Race 5 - Jacqueline McManus Solicitors Open- Novice Riders
A Rated bids to keep his champion point-to-point horse title hopes alive as he goes in search of a fifth win of the campaign having defeated a number of his potentially re-opposing rivals in recent weeks, including both Some Are Lucky and Er Dancer. However his biggest test could come in this if DIESE DES BIEFFES, who bypassed a potential engagement last weekend, was to make his return to action here having started the season so impressively with dominant victories at Monksgrange and Loughrea.
Race 6 - Dublin Products Ltd 5yo+ Mares Maiden
PEARLOFLORIDAY has contested two big-field maidens in recent weeks, showing nice improvement between her Castletown-Geoghegan debut and her latest outing in Fairyhouse when she was beaten by less than five lengths. It would likely not take much further improvement for her to go two places better here for Shane Broderick. Granny Lowrie is a former maiden hurdle winner back in August 2020 but was subsequently disqualified and has returned to Pat Doyle following a disappointing effort last summer. Of the others, I Aint No Joke stands out having finished third at Lisronagh in March.
