Brook Bay sees Donnchadh Doyle headline first Tingle Creek Sale

The inaugural Goffs Tingle Creek Sale got off to a flying start at Sandown Park’s Tingle Creek Festival today with a boutique catalogue of 16 pointers seeing all horses sell for a 100% clearance rate and an average price of over £120,000.

Held after racing in a packed winners’ enclosure, the sale saw seven horses make six-figure sums and it was Donnchadh Doyle and Monbeg Stables who sold the top two lots with both surpassing the £300,000 mark.

The debut PTP winner Brook Bay (Lot 10), a son of Affinisea who won his debut at Lingstown, secured the top price when selling to Martin Tedham’s Wasdell Properties & Jonjo O'Neill for £380,000, while the smart Walk In The Park 4YO, Flash In The Park (Lot 3), was knocked down to Ben Pauling for £350,000 following an eye-catching win at Knockmullen House.

Goffs UK Managing Director Tim Kent commented on the sale:
“It has been a fantastic evening here at Sandown Park – we are delighted. We have been very busy with inspections yesterday and today, we have welcomed a huge amount of people, and the atmosphere at the sale was fantastic. It was all set up with our PTP graduate Jonbon winning at Sandown earlier today and to have sold every lot in the sale is a great result.

“It has been a big team effort to get here and our thanks go out to the Sandown Park team, they have been a pleasure to work with and it has been really enjoyable putting this sale together with them. The facilities here are superb, everything is in such close proximity and it has worked so well so we are looking forward to coming back next year and building on it.

“Finally to our vendors, they backed us and this new idea with a great bunch of horses, we couldn’t have done it without them, so we send a big thanks to them for their support. We also wish our buyers all the very best of luck and hope that we will see some of the horses back here at Sandown, this time on the track, in the near future.”
