Milestone for Chris ODonovan

Chris O’Donovan enjoyed a memorable day at Quakerstown when registering his 100th point-to-point winner aboard the Tom Keating trained Chancernotadancer in the The Grove Bar five-year-old and upwards mares maiden.

O’Donovan is a grandson of former trainer Jack O’Keeffe, he partnered his first winner at Dromahane in April 2014 aboard Optimus Prime which was owned and trained by his sister Kate.

He was crowned champion novice rider in 2016, which was also the same season that he recorded his first track victory aboard Theatre Princess at Cork.

His best season to date was last season, where he had 25 winners and was crowned the Southern Champion.

The Mallow native has struck up a particular good association with Waterford handler Declan Queally who has
provided him over 25 winners to date.

His father John O’Donovan, Mick Winters and Jason O’Reilly have also been big supporters of his.
