Ballynoe cancelled as track unfit for racing

The IHRB have unfortunately announced that this Sunday’s point-to-point at Ballynoe has been cancelled.

Following an inspection of the course on Friday afternoon, the track was found to be unfit for racing, and therefore, the fixture has been cancelled.

The news will be particularly disappointing for point-to-point supporters as the fixture had been due to stage the 2024 GAIN Mares Final.

This latest cancellation leaves just Tattersalls as the sole remaining point-to-point on Sunday, after it passed it’s 48-hour inspection, with the ground at the venue for the Louth Foxhounds point-to-point described as Heavy, Soft in places.

Saturday’s rescheduled fixture at Curraghmore must past pass a precautionary 7.30am inspection on the morning of racing due to the forecast of further rainfall and a status orange wind warning, which comes into effect at 7am.
