Downpatrick Hunters Chases and p2p Bumper

The Team at Downpatrick Racecourse are delighted to announce Dennison Commercials as the Headline sponsor of their Raceday on Friday 24th May- Celebrating Northern Irish Point to Pointing.

The feature race on the card is the Dennison Commercials Hunters Steeplechase over 3miles and 4½ furlongs with a fantastic prize fund of €17,500 up for grabs, making it the second most valuable Hunter Steeplechase in Ireland this year. 

Dennison Commercials will also be the Title Sponsor of the Northern Region Point to Point Awards that will take place after racing on the evening. Awards on the night will include: Leading Northern Trainer, Leading Northern Jockey, Leading Northern Horse and Leading Northern Breeder.

The awards will be based on results in the Northern Irish Point to Point circuit for the 2023 / 2024 Season.

Building on the success of the inaugural event in 2023 a Point to Point Flat Race over 2 miles and 1 furlong has also been added to the card kindly sponsored by Dennison Rentals.

Dennison JCB will sponsor the Maiden Hunters Steeplechase over 2 Miles 7 Furlongs and DennPart will also sponsor the Beginners Steeplechase on the night.

The initiative was set up last year with the support of Down Royal Corporation of Horse Breeders to showcase Northern Irish Point to Pointing.

Tickets for Racing and The Dennison Commercials Northern Region Point to Point Awards are £60 to include, Admission, reserved seat in Dunleath Suite, Hot Fork Buffet and Live Music after Racing and can be purchase by ringing Downpatrick Racecourse on 02844612054. 

Entries for the two Downpatrick hunters chase and point-to-point bumper close on Monday 20th May at 12 noon.  The meeting itself takes place on Friday 24th May.
