Sent off the 8/15 Favourite the Kingston Hill four-year-old Full Confession was making his track debut for Willie Mullins in the colours of his rider Patrick Mullins.

In a steadily run affair the rank outsider Tracking Treasure cut out most the running under Brian Dunleay. The Gordon Elliott trained Stowlin second American Jukebox and Sean Doyle’s Ballyraggett victor Milo Miller tracked the leader throughout with Full Confession travelling well in fourth with Blue Eyed Girl, Trasna Na Pairce and Youlita bringing up the rear of the seven-runner field.

Making the turn for home American Jukebox was ridden for home with Milo Miller quickening on the inside, but when Patrick Mullins asked Full Confession for an effort in the last furlong, he forged through to lead 150 yards out and scored by two and a half lengths going away from Milo Miller with Paul Cashman’s Youlita making good progress from the rear and despite being hampered, finished third just ahead of American Jukebox.

The winner had edged right in the closing stages hampering the eventual third Youlita, but the result stood after a stewards enquiry.

Full Confession is a half-brother to two French flat winners that’s out of a Saddlers Well-sired half-sister to an Irish 2000 Guineas runner-up Adjareli. He won his maiden point-to-point on debut at Domahane in April in the colours of his owner/trainer Michael Ryan before being Purchased at the Goffs Horse In Training Sale by David Mullins for €60,000.

Full Confession is now for sale to stay in training at Closutton.
