First Entries Online for the Tattersalls Cheltenham December Sale

The initial entries for the Tattersalls Cheltenham December Sale, scheduled to take place after racing on the first day of the Cheltenham December meeting on December 12, are now online, featuring 14 select winning and placed point-to-pointers and horses in training.

The catalogue can be viewed online at www.tattersallscheltenham.com

The draft of quality form horses is headlined by the four-year-old Young Rebel.Trained by Margaret Mullins, the gelding was the debut winner of the INH Flat race at Fairyhouse last week, is by the progressive jumps sire Crystal Ocean and rates an exciting prospect.

Michael Murphy of Redbridge Stables has entered two debut-winning four-year-old point-to-pointers – Make Me Smile, a winner at Tinahely and a Feel Like Dancing half-brother to the Grade 2 winner Deafening Silence, and Quest For Answers (Quest For Peace), an impressive 20l winner at November’s Borris House meeting.

Maxios Des Champs (Maxios) was a smart winner at Boulta for handler Eamonn Doyle and the Mossy Fen Partnership, while Sean Doyle’s Order On Time (Order Of St George) was a good second on debut in the four-year-old geldings’ maiden at Turtulla in November.

Tattersalls Cheltenham Sale Manager Shirley Anderson-Jolag said: “Two of the three Grade 1 chases run in Ireland this season have been won by Tattersalls Cheltenham graduates; it is a great reflection of the quality of horse that can be purchased in the Tattersalls Cheltenham sale ring.

“It was a thrill to watch the Tattersalls Cheltenham Festival graduate Romeo Coolio successful in such comprehensive fashion in last weekend’s Grade 1 Drinmore Novice Chase. Now that he has stepped up to jumping fences, he is fulfilling all that he has promised and has so much potential in his chasing career.

“After the record-breaking Tattersalls Cheltenham November Sale, we are looking forward to closing out 2025 with a vibrant sale on 12th December.”

Entries for the Tattersalls Cheltenham December Sale will be open through to Monday, 8th December with point-to-points due to take place in Ireland this weekend at Dromahane, Ballycrystal and Tattersalls, and in Britain at Wadebridge and Chaddesley Corbett, the latter featuring the Tattersalls Cheltenham, GB Pointing Bonus, Young Horse Maiden Series 4yo.
