The youngest son of Cheltenham-winning trainer Paul Gilligan, Ollie has followed in the footsteps of his three older brothers Liam, Jack and Danny, who have all progressed through the pony racing ranks and now hold jockey licences. Ollie was given his first ride under Rules by his father in a bumper at Ballinrobe in July 2024, before making his point-to-point debut at Borris House in December 2024 aboard Born By The Sea, trained by his brother Liam. He recorded his first success between the flags when partnering the David Ryan-trained Killowen House to victory at Quakerstown in April 2026..
