The northern season continues this weekend, with Loughanmore hosting their first meet of the season, the meet will be hosted on well-known point-to-point owner Wilson Dennison’s land once again this year.
Beth Armstrong, hunt secretary for the East Antrim’s, informed us on Thursday:
‘Preparations are going fine, everything is on track, we had the Turf Club inspection this afternoon and we passed. The ground is yielding so we are happy with that.
There is rain forecasted for tomorrow, but Saturday is to be fine. There will be the usual food and beverage outlets.’

Suirvale (H) AT Knockinroe on 27th October 2019
First Race: 12.30pm

Knockinroe point-to-point track is situated on the banks of the picturesque river Suir.
It is being held on the grounds of the Kavanagh and Larkin families for the third time this year since moving from the Fairyhill venue back in 2017.
Hunt secretary Tom Tynan kindly spoke to us about the course preparations during the week.
“Preparations are going very well for Saturday, we have the the Turf Club inspection this evening and the ground should be good to soft. We have a healthy entry of 88, which we are happy with as there are two other meets on this weekend.
We will have our usual caterers and we are looking forward to a great days racing with a good crowd to support the event."

Meath (F) & Tara (H) at Dowth Hall on 27th Oct 2019

Dowth point-to-point has gone from strength-to-strength since it began in its current from back in 2015.
Now marketed as Dowth point-to-point and country fair, the event attracts huge crowds and there are plenty of activities for all the family.
We caught up with Geoffrey Frawley ahead of this weekend's spectacle:
"Preparations are going well. We are expecting a big crowd, we will have a champagne bar onsite this year and we have a pony club race taking place after the racing has finished which has an entry of 12 ponies.
"The weather forecast is good and we also will have a live stream again this year which will help to showcase point-to-pointing as a great family day out.
"The track is ready to go and is in the same layout as last year, with a good cover of grass."
