Weekend Preview | Kirkistown Sat 21st March 2020

NORTH DOWN (F) at Kirkistown, Saturday 21st March 2020

First Race: 13:00pm
Number of Entries: 106

Race 1 Dennison Commercials Ltd 4yo Maiden

SLIEVEGAR acquitted himself well at Tinahely on debut last month when he finished third, only beaten five lengths. That opening effort should stand to him here.

Rajsalad was another not beaten too far when he made his debut in a slowly-run Lingstown maiden a fortnight ago, whilst of the others with form, Barrichello has previous course experience as he made the frame here last month. The market will give the best guide as to what can be expected from the remainder.

Race 2 - Albert Bartlett 5yo Geldings Maiden

PAY THE PIPER bypassed a couple of potential engagements last weekend, and if he could bounce back from his disappointing effort at Borris House from the beginning of the month, he could well be the one to beat.

The Court Cave gelding had twice finished a close second prior to that latest effort and has certainly been knocking on the door. Coothill returns from a mid-season break, having not been seen since finishing third at Turtulla on his debut in November, and he would have to enter the equation alongside the likes of The Dara Man, Francesco Du Clos and Nothin To Ask.

Race 3 - H Miskimmin Ltd 5yo Mares Maiden

SHANAVOUN LADY has not been seen since chasing home Katoune Tara in a competitive Borris House maiden before Christmas. Her conqueror on that occasion has advertised the form by running a big race against two notable four-year-old winners in the recent point-to-point bumper at Gowran Park, and so she would look the one to beat.

Passion View is an interesting alternative as she was just three lengths behind Timeless Beauty, a horse that was sold for 100,000 afterwards, when making her debut at Oldtown last month. She should ensure the selection does not have it all her own way.

Race 4 - Ians School of Motoring Open- Novice Riders

EDDIES MIRACLE has taken all before him this season, winning on each of his four outings. His latest success at Tinahely was his most comfortable to date and he now looks to become the first horse of the season to reach the five-winner mark.

Stablemate Marinero has come up against some capable horses this season and will be a factor alongside the consistent All Hell Let Loose.

Race 5 - Morrow Tyres Winner Of One

TAREESHAR may have an absence to overcome, having not been seen since finishing second on the opening weekend of the season, however the six-year-old brings a good level of form into this and he could well record his second career success.

Big Leg Up is another returning from a slight break as this would be his first run since opening his account at Tattersalls Farm in early December, whilst Tardree and Westy Fox are other last time out maiden winners to consider.

Race 6 - 6yo Geldings Maiden

THE NEW KID was no match for Black Samurai when a beaten favourite at Lingstown two weeks ago, but this would look a nice opportunity for him if he could bounce back to the form he had shown at Ballindenisk earlier in the season.

The returning Sleve Donard would look the alternative as he made the frame in his last two outings, whilst Airdrigh, William Tyndale and the absent Espoir Des Sablons are others with place claims.
