Autumn cut off date to remain unchanged for new season

The IHRB have clarified that the cut-off date for horses racing under rules who return point-to-pointing for the autumn will remain unchanged.

The 2020/21 season is set to commence on an earlier date owing to the loss of much of the spring season due to the Covid-19 pandemic, with the week beginning 14th September 2020 stated as the proposed starting point.

8. For Point to Point Steeplechases the following conditions shall apply:

- (i) (a) A horse shall not be qualified to start for a Point to Point Steeplechase in the Autumn schedule if it has:

- won a race under any Rules of Racing or Steeplechasing (Hunters Steeplechases, Point to Point Steeplechases and Private Sweepstakes excluded) on or after March 1st prior to the start of the current Point to Point season,

- or run in any race under the Rules of Racing or Steeplechasing (Hunters Steeplechases, Point to Point Steeplechases and Private Sweepstakes excluded) on or after September 1st prior to the start of the current Point to Point season.
