Goffs Spring HIT & PTP Sale Catalogue Now Online

The Doncaster Spring HIT/PTP Sale, along with the Spring Store Sale, combine to act as the unofficial close of the NH season and the initial entries for the 2024 sale are now available to view online.

Now in its 63rd year, the Spring Sale which launched DBS, now Goffs UK, has seen many highlights over the years, from Gold Cup and Grand National winners, to several world record NH prices, and its achievements continue to flow as it lays claim to arguably the finest current NH horse-in-training, the unbeaten champion CONSTITUTION HILL.

The opening day of the Spring HIT/PTP Sale, which will follow on from the Store Sale, features UK and Irish pointers and represents the largest annual sale for horses of this category. The day includes entries from all the leading PTP handlers and once again shapes as one not to be missed. This of course is the day that sold Constitution Hill in 2021 and like last year, a number of PTP entries will be taken over the coming two weeks and supplemented into the sale. In addition, this day will also feature drafts from Gigginstown House Stud, Gordon Elliot’s Cullentra House Stables and JP McManus’ Martinstown Stud.

The second and final day will be dedicated to horses-in-training, with consignments from the leading NH trainers, including the annual Million In Mind Dispersal which has been such a huge drawcard for many years and is headlined by the Listed winning 6YO mare AVAKATE (Lot 708). This year will also see Mr Steve Parkin’s Clipper Logistics hold a dispersal of five NH horses. Some of the many highlights of the two-days include:

Lot 446, Jacques Clouseau (5YO G by Notnowcato), the impressive winner of his debut PTP for Philip Rowley at Chaddesley Corbett

448, River Rider (4YO G by Ol’ Man River), made an eye-catching debut to finish second in a Bumper at Warwick for Tom Weston.

721, Mossy Fen Park (5YO G by Walk In The Park), placed second on his debut hurdle before winning his maiden in December for Henry De Bromhead. He then finished second in a Gr.2 novice hurdle at Fairyhouse on his most recent outing. Part of the Clipper Logistics NH Dispersal.

723, Western Diego (7YO G by Westerner), the lightly raced winner of two of his six starts for Willie Mullins. A winner two starts ago, he placed third in a Gr.2 Novice Hurdle at Fairyhouse on his most recent outing. Part of the Clipper Logistics NH Dispersal.

There are plenty of other outstanding entries from many leading owners and trainers including Aiden Fitzgerald, Alan King, Charlie Longsdon, Colin Bowe, Dan Skelton, Denis Murphy, Donald McCain, Emma Lavelle, Gavin Cromwell, Gordon Elliott, Fergal O’Brien, Gary Moore, Gigginstown House Stud, Jonjo O’Neill, Margaret Mullins, Matty Flynn O’Connor, Michael Goff, Nicky Henderson, Nigel Twiston-Davies, Olly Murphy, Paul Nicholls, Paul Webber, Sam Curling, Sam Thomas, Stuart Crawford, Tom Ellis, Tom Lacey, Warren Ewing etc.

Goffs UK Managing Director Tim Kent commented:

“The Spring HIT/PTP Sale is our largest horses-in-training sale of the year and has produced many highlights since it launched DBS, now Goffs UK, 62 years ago, amongst which two of the most notable recent moments are a world record top price for a NH HIT of £620,000 and selling the unbeaten champion hurdler Constitution Hill.

“This year we have two headline dispersals in the annual Million in Mind draft, which is always a highlight, alongside a strong, select draft of five horses from Mr Steve Parkin’s Clipper Logistics. We will also be accepting a large number of supplementary entries with more racing and pointing over the coming two weeks and those entries will be published online as they are confirmed.”
