The Acting Stewards received a report from the Clerk of the Scales, regarding the failure of Mr S. Cotter, rider of Maximum Appeal, placed fourth to weigh in after the 5yo Geldings Maiden.

Evidence was heard from the rider concerned.

Having considered the evidence, the Acting Stewards found the rider in breach of Regulation 44 (iii) (failure to weigh in), and having taken Mr. Cotter’s previous record into consideration, fined him €150. Furthermore, the Acting Stewards disqualified Maximum Appeal from fourth place.

The amended result now reads: -

United Hunt (F) Lisgoold Point to Point Meeting Saturday 10 January 2026

The Acting Stewards interviewed Mr C.J. Tobin, rider of Ciel De Neige (FR), placed third, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of the Open Lightweight.

Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who accepted he was in breach of the relevant whip regulations.

Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Acting Stewards were of the opinion that the rider was in breach of Regulation 58. 3.(g) in that he had used the whip with excessive frequency and Regulation 58. 3.(i) in that he had used the whip without allowing or appearing to allow his mount at least three strides to respond.

Having taken his previous record into consideration, the Acting Stewards suspended Mr C.J. Tobin for two Point to Point racedays.
