Barry Walsh is a brother of ex-point-to-point rider Aaron, and their father is handler John Patrick Walsh, best known for his training of Tinahely specialist Loggan Lass. Walsh made his debut at his local Tinahely course in October 2012, with his first winner coming aboard his families Ballydarsi, at Grennan in November 2015. The 2021 Punchestown Festival is certainly one that he will remember fondly after winning two of the three 'banks' races at the meeting aboard his families Singing Banjo. The pair won the Ladies Cup on the Tuesday before following up two days later in the prestigous La Touche Cup.
