Josh Ahern started his point-to-point career at Carrigarostig in January 2022 aboard Our Majella, trained by his father Garrett J. Ahern.  The Cork native partnered his first winner in January 2023 when winning aboard Salseros at Ballindenisk carrying the colours of his father Garrett Ahern, whilst it was also a horse trained by his father, The Rebel County, that supplied the UCC PE and History student with his initial success under rules in a Tipperary Hunter Chase in May 2025.
