Tommy Aherne made his point-to-point debut at Kildorrery in February 2022 aboard the Eugene O'Sullivan trained Lucy Millieneaux. O'Sullivan also provided Aherne with a first ride between the rails aboard Leading Legend, in his father Tom's colours, at Listowel in June 2024. Aherne partnered his initial point-to-point winner at Loughrea in October 2025 when he scored on All Rise Malone for O'Sullivan.
